Get Arty The Plein Air Art Festival is set for May 12-19. One of my favorite events of the year is back, and it promises to be better than ever! The Fourth Annual North Carolina Plein Air Art Festival begins Sunday, May 12, and continues through Sunday, May 19. It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Yes, the holiday season is in full swing in New Bern. We have so many events and activities to enjoy in our magical downtown. Here are a few highlights: A Holiday Dance When you hear that mesmerizing music, you know it must be the holidays! I am so excited to see my favorite tradition, The Nutcracker Ballet, at the Athens Theatre. New Bern has an amazing community of Veterans from all branches of service. We appreciate all that they have done for our country and our town. This Veterans Day, we have two special events to show our appreciation. The Inaugural Trail to Tryon in 2022 attracted walkers and runners from around the state and beyond. Race to the Finish Saturday, November 11 is the Second Annual Trail to Tryon, a foot race through New Bern’s historic downtown and riverfront. Participants have the choice of running or walking a 5K, 10K or half-marathon. In addition to the in-person events,

August is going to be another hot month in New Bern, and we are not just referring to the weather. Our hometown has a jam-packed calendar of events. Here are three, super-hot stand-outs to enjoy: Music All Around Three Footloose on the Neuse performances for the City of New Bern Parks and Recreation Department’s outdoor concert series are on tap for the month (and a day).
