Weyerhaeuser is proud to serve as the developer of West New Bern. The company began operations in 1900 and is one of the world’s largest private owners of timberlands. Weyerhaeuser owns or controls over 13 million acres of timberlands, primarily in the United States.
The company has a significant presence in North Carolina and the local area. We are one of the area’s larger employers, and we own close to 44,000 timberland acres locally and over 570,000 acres in North Carolina. The New Bern location is important to us, as we have developed five other master-planned communities in the area.
Weyerhaeuser is proud to be listed on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, and the company trades on the Dow Jones Stock Exchange as WY. Weyerhaeuser generated $6.4 billion in net sales and employed over 10,000 people in 2016.
